2000    From Scratch, (a show of installations and drawings), 529 West 20th Street, 8th floor, New York, N.Y. The mixed media piece titled A Better Story was built on site, with a suite of drawings shown simultaneously. This show was organized by the Fashion Institute of Technology. Other artists included Eric Heist and Genesis P-Orridge, Colin Hunt, Rachel Lowther and Jeremy Sigler.
1999    Eric Schnell and Lorenzo de Los Angeles, Momenta Art, Brooklyn, New York. A mixed media piece was built on site and shown with a collection of drawings.
The Searchers, Artists Space, New York, N.Y. Built the installation Navigator on site. This show was curated by Robert Longo. A group show including Sue de Beer, Khanh Vo, Adam Putnam, Colin Hunt, Michelle Elzay and Allison Smith.

Biography:
Eric Schnell was born in Bloomington, Indiana in 1968. In 1995 He graduated from the University of Houston with a B.F.A. in studio painting and a minor in English Literature. In 1998 he received a M.F.A. from Columbia University, with a concentration in studio arts.
His artwork has been shown across the United States. He has built installations for Hammer Museum in Los Angeles, Momenta Art, Brooklyn, Artist Space, NYC, The Fashion Institute of Technology, NYC, Arthouse, Austin, TX and other non-profit art spaces. He has been awarded several grants in support of his artwork, the most recent was from the Pollock-Krasner Foundation. In 2006 he was chosen to be the American representative at the Internationl Studio and Critic Program in New York City.
 In 2010 he cofounded  The Galveston Artist Residency and Gallery with scientist Bert Geary.  The Galveston Artist Residency welcomed its first group of artists in 2011, and the GAR Gallery opened to the public in 2012.
In 2016, cofounder and assistant editor of Binder magazine with Dan Schmahl and Sallie Barbee.
